Summer festival

The Ealing Summer Festival is well underway. The popular Greenford Carnival kicked off this year’s festivities and it has now moved on to Walpole Park. I wandered down to the Global festival today with my family and we bumped into Keith Waite (pictured left). For those of you who don’t know Keith, he’s a superb, internationally renowned musician who does a lot of work with youngsters. He was performing with Macusi Youth, made up largely of students from Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College (where I’m on the Board of Governors) that Keith had been working with on Thursday afternoons in program funded by Ealing Council and their Aim Higher project. They were great and you could tell they were all really enjoying themselves.
I’d urge all of you in the West London area to get down to the festival - it’s only a quid, the kids are free and there is a superb programme of music still to be performed over the next week.
