Ealing Schools hit by exam marking fiasco
A number of Ealing schools have been hit by the fiasco over the marking of SATs tests this year. At key stage 2 (children aged 11), four schools have not received their English results, 3 schools are waiting for maths and a further 5 have not received their science results. At key stage 3, more than half the schools have not yet received their results for English.
To be frank it’s a fiasco. A lot of work goes into these exams and it is unacceptable that such a debacle has been allowed to happen. The Government was warned months ago that this could happen and they have been completely complacent over the whole saga. The Government really must make sure that the current mess is sorted out quickly and that the same thing does not happen again next year. The Government must also seriously question whether ETS, the current company responsible for the marking, should be allowed to keep the contract.
